Trauma

Reclaiming Your Life After Difficult Experiences

Trauma is the lasting emotional and psychological impact of events that overwhelmed our ability to cope — whether that's a single incident like an accident or assault, or ongoing experiences like childhood neglect, abuse, or chronic stress. Trauma isn't defined by the event itself, but by the effect it has on the nervous system and the way it shapes how we see ourselves and the world.

Trauma can show up in many ways: intrusive memories or flashbacks, hypervigilance, emotional numbness, difficulty trusting others, trouble sleeping, or a persistent sense that something is wrong even when life looks fine on the outside. These responses are the mind and body's attempts to protect you — but they can also keep you stuck.

Healing from trauma is absolutely possible, and it often looks different than people expect. You don't need to relive every detail of what happened in order to move forward. Our therapists are trained in trauma-informed approaches including EMDR, somatic techniques, and trauma-focused CBT — all of which are designed to help you process difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe for you.

Wherever you are in your healing journey, you deserve support. Our practice offers a warm, non-judgmental space where your experiences are honored and your wellbeing is the priority.

If trauma is affecting your daily life, we're here to help. Contact us to connect with a trauma-informed therapist.
